This is a journey through the history of Bolivia, from the extraordinary pre-Hispanic civilisations to the modern age, marked by the development of the railway.
The itinerary will take you, on a roundtrip in one day, to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, a World Heritage Site, and the museum of Guaqui, a Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
Travelling by train, on one of the oldest railway lines in the country, we will discover the extraordinary one-of-a-kind ceremonial site of Tiwanaku, one of the most notable archaeological sites in Pre-Columbian America. Lulled by the gentle rocking of the tourist train, across unique landscapes, we will enjoy the tranquillity of Lake Titicaca in a different way. The last stop of the excursion will be the port town of Guaqui and its famous museum, opened in the old train sheds at the railway station, recently redeveloped to showcase the history, culture and traditions of the lake region and the development of the railway in this town in the early twentieth century.
