Uyuni
The city of the famous Salar, the most popular and visited tourist attraction in Bolivia.
One of the first foreign tourists to visit Uyuni, to explore its salt flat, was the astronaut Neil Armstrong. The first man to set foot on the moon was so impressed by the visibility of this gigantic white patch from space, between the mountains of South America, that he later decided to visit the place.
In recent years, the popularity of the Salar of Uyuni has exploded and hundreds of thousands of tourists visit it every year. A stage of the famous Dakar Rally has been held for a number of years on this immense salt track and the place has been chosen as the set of important films: some spectacular scenes of star battles in The Last Jedi, an episode of the famous Star Wars saga, were filmed in this fantastic setting. A reasonable choice, since when you visit the Salar you really do have the feeling that you have arrived in another galaxy.
