The Takesi Trail is the best-preserved section of the Qhapaq Ñan Inca road network in Bolivia.
A sustainable trek that respects the environment and the communities living there.
The Qhapaq Ñan is a huge web of pre-Hispanic trails that cross the Andean regions of South America and over the centuries, down to the present day, they were used by the local communities to meet, work, trade goods and ideas, and generally travel immersed in the natural landscape, the embodiment of Mother Earth. A constant presence in the life of the local people, who would spend a lot of time travelling on them, while telling stories and, indeed, which are still used today by the communities which live along them, people who welcome travellers and provide the basic services they need. By meeting people from these communities the trekkers will be able to learn a bit more about their work, culture, beliefs and traditions.
