Cycling along the shores of Lake Titicaca, through some extraordinary landscapes and ancient living cultures.
A route by cycle, foot and boat, to enjoy some beautiful landscapes, discover remains from the ancient past and experience the everyday life of the communities that will host us.
Mountain biking along the trails that surround Lake Titicaca and connect the Aymara communities living around the Lago Menor is an experience that will allow you to discover the ancestral cultural heritage that the communities have managed to painstakingly preserve with great pride. The experience is quite a challenge and the entire route offers some sensational landscapes and different sceneries in close contact with nature. There is also no lack of cultural and historical attractions like the ancient pre-Hispanic settlements and small museums that dot the area.

Day 1
From La Paz to the Quehuaya community
Duration: 1,5 days
La Paz – Cumana community – Quehuaya community
Early morning departure from La Paz by bus or minibus. The first stop is the Cumana community where we will visit the pre-Hispanic bridge and start the bike tour that will take us on a journey to discover the landscapes and fauna of the surroundings of Lake Titicaca. The next stop will be the town of Puerto Perez and then on to the Patapatani community, where we will visit the museum that houses the famous Tani mummy. The tour continues, among the pre-Hispanic chullpas, to the Quehuaya community where we will enjoy a typical lunch at the community hostel.
In the afternoon, we will visit the floating island of Quehuaya and spend some time with several local families who still speak the Puquina language, which has almost completely disappeared. We will then return by boat to the Quehuaya community lodge where we will spend the night.
Day 2
From the Quehuaya community to the Isla Pariti
Duration: 1,5 days
Quehuaya community – Pariti Island
From the Quehuaya community we will visit the ruins of Taramaya and then walk to the pier on the lake. Here a boat will be waiting for us to take us through a maze of water reeds to the island of Pariti, where we will visit the museum, which houses such exceptional exhibits as the Lord of the Ducks, reflecting the local fauna.
We will return to the Quehuaya lodge for lunch and, after a short rest, will head back to La Paz.
