A journey along the pre-Hispanic trails that surround Lake Titicaca, getting lost in its magical landscapes and discovering the roots of ancient civilizations.
The peoples that live on the shores of the lake maintain a remarkable cultural vitality and will transport us back in time to the origins of the millennia-old Andean culture.
Together, we will discover the secrets of the Cordillera Real and Lake Titicaca, along the ancient Andean road network developed by the Incas. The trails will take us to explore the cultural expressions, customs and way of life of the local communities, the archaeological sites, the rock paintings and the most hidden beaches of the Sacred Lake.

Day 1
From La Paz to Puerto Pérez
Duration: 1,5 days
La Paz – Cumana community – Patapatani community – Quehuaya community
We will head towards the town of Puerto Pérez on a surfaced road, after which the journey will continue on an unsurfaced road to the first stop, the community of Cumana. From here we will take trails running along the shore of the lake. During the trip we will observe the great variety of birds in the region (flamingos, wild ducks, diving ducks, depending on the season), until we reach Patapatani community. Here we will visit the local museum that preserves many archaeological remains and the spectacular Tani mummy, one of the main pre-Hispanic attractions of the region.
The tour continues to the Quehuaya Island community and its community lodge, where we will spend the night.
Day 2
From Quehuaya Island to La Paz
Duration: 1,5 days
Isla Quehuaya – Isla Pariti – Puerto Pérez
After breakfast, a 20-minute hike from the Isla Quehuaya community will take us to the chullpas of Qala Uta, funerary towers built of stone. Here we will board rowing boats to the island of Isla Pariti. During the boat trip we will enjoy views of the water reed maze in the lake, which give shelter to a huge variety of waterfowl.
On the island of Pariti we will visit the community's museum, which houses important archaeological remains, including the famous Señor de los patos (Lord of the Ducks).
We will then return, by the same route, to the Isla Quehuaya community where we will enjoy lunch at the lodge. The next stop will be the floating island of the community, where we will have the opportunity to spend some time with a family belonging to the Uro Iruito culture.
To end the day, we will board a boat across Lake Titicaca, from Isla Quehuaya to Puerto Perez, from where we will return to La Paz by private minibus.
