A spiritual space key to the mysteries of an ancient culture. The spiritual centre of Señor Calixto is a sacred place where demonstrations of ancestral rituals take place.
The spiritual centre is located in the hills around Lake Titicaca, an area where authentic ritual practices of the Andean worldview are still performed today.
The worldview of the highland peoples was already thousands of years old when the Incas arrived and continues today in the traditions of the Quechua and Aymara communities. Their vision implies a sacred relationship between human beings and Mother Earth and is the key to understanding Andean communitarianism, based on solidarity in relationships between human beings, love and consideration for elders and children, animals, the environment and the cosmos.
The spiritual centre of Señor Calixto was designed using the architectural forms of precolonial civilizations as a model and consists of circular single-story residential structures arranged around a central courtyard. The demonstration activities offered by the centre reflect its authenticity, at one with the surrounding environment, the historical and natural significance of Lake Titicaca and the peoples who live it.
