The locals proudly display the many varieties of fruits from this generous land: peaches, apples, grapes, figs, pears grow luxuriantly in the La Viña Orchard.
Share everyday gestures and authentic flavours with Collpani's fruit farmers on a special day.
The land that makes up the La Viña Orchard is located in the municipality of Collpani. The orchard is one of the attractions of the Farm Tourism Route, featuring a day spent in the company of members of the community to learn about the fruit growing activities.
The community of Collpani is famous for its large-scale production of many varieties of fruit. Fruit from the Luribay Valley, in fact, is in high demand throughout much of Bolivia and the local producers are responsible for supplying the markets of La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba and even Santa Cruz. The main reason for this popularity has to do with the altitude and the good management of the crops and produce. It is not surprising that fruit production is one of the region's economic mainstays.
During the harvest season, the producers organise guided tours of their orchards, where visitors can pick and taste the fruits fresh from the tree, besides learning close-up about how the fruit is grown, harvested and selected, still using the traditional techniques and tools, such as the typical cane baskets of the region.
Book your visit to La Viña Orchard and enjoy an authentic experience at one of Bolivia's most famous fruit producers.
