Thanks to the grapes grown at an altitude of 2900 metres, the Luribay Winery offers wine lovers unique and unforgettable flavours.
A winery which, in its over two-decade-long history, is committed to the recovery of old practices and skills for the production of artisanal wines and singani.
In an area with a centuries-old winemaking history, the Bodega Luribay Winery has pioneered and spearheaded the return of winemaking in the municipality. For many years, in fact, these lands were heavily affected by outbreaks of vine plague and parasites that devastated grape production. Following these outbreaks the wine growers decided to give winemaking another try, resuming a tradition handed down since colonial times.
The producers themselves say that, over the years, they have become renowned for their expertise in growing grapes and making craft wines and singani. Currently, the estate has a winery and vineyards; the grapes ripen from October to December. Among the varieties of grapes grown here are Muscat of Alexandria, Torontel and Ubina. Singani is a typical Bolivian brandy distilled from white Muscat grapes, unlike Peruvian pisco, which is mainly produced with Torontel and Ubina varieties.
The Luribay Winery is looking forward to your visit, during which you will have the opportunity to appreciate the production process of excellent wines and taste the different wines and singani made at the winery. Contact us for more information and to book your visit.
