The Jukil Community Lodge is not just a simple hostel to spend the night; it’s an ideal place for experiencing the local culture.
Activities under the stars, dancing and merriment are the ingredients of the cultural evenings organised by the community of Santiago de Agencha.
The Jukil Community Lodge organises convivial activities to make every moment of the day an unforgettable experience for the guests. While the many activities during the daytime are dedicated to discovering the local natural and cultural heritage, the evenings are reserved for fun and travellers and community members alike gather around a bonfire to relax under the moonlight, dancing and singing to the rhythm of the tarqueada, the most popular folk dance of the region.
Traditionally, the men play the instruments while the women dance. The festival becomes a special moment during which people can share their emotions, while listening to the legends and ancient stories of the community, which explain the customs and traditions of this town and its proud history.
The friendly and warm treatment reserved to the guests of the Jukil Community Lodge and the fun of the celebrations at night will help you feel a part of the community on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni. Write to us to arrange your stay at Jukil Community Lodge.
